Wedge

2009 | 6'50'' | HD video

Wedge is an absurd performance created in relation to the futile horror of what had just taken place. It records a performance that was enacted during the course of a single day, in the quiet of the aftermath following the ceasefire between Hamas and the Israeli government in January 2009, about a mile from the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip. The artist leaves her parents’ house on the kibbutz where she grew up and walks to the adjacent fields, where she encounters a remnant of the recent hostilities: a Kassam missile stuck in a ditch.
